Same surname not an issues- this person comes down the main branch of Staffords (that goes through the Duke of Buckingham during the Wars of the Roses period) - both husband and wife were cousin; Dorothy here though was also a relative through the House of York *George York KB - brother of Richard III and Edward IV, and Isabel Neville -these were Dorothy's great grandparents down her maternal line of Ursula Pole.

Dorothy married William STAFFORD KB, son of Sir Humphrey STAFFORD and Margaret FOGGE, in 1545. (William STAFFORD KB was born in 1512 in Blatherwycke, Northamptonshire, England and died on 5 May 1556 in Geneva Switzerland.)
