John Greville was born in 1447, son of Ralph Greville [1]and his wife, Catherine Poyntz.[2] [3]

Career

He was justice of the peace for Gloucestershire and Warwickshire and in 1499 he was co-heir to his aunt Alice Poyntz, wife of John Crossley, in which he inherited one-third share of the manor of Nympsfield.[5]
Marriage

John married Jane Forster, daughter of Humphrey I Forster [1] [3]and his wife, Alice Stonor. They were parents of Edward Greville; Mary Greville Somerville; Agnes Greville Tame, Robert Greville and Elizabeth Greville. [5]Only Robert, Edward and Mary are mentioned in the Visitation.[1]
Death

John is thought to have died in 1504. Richardson estimates that John Greville and his wife Jane died before 21 April 1507.[5]
