Biography
William de Bello Campo de Bedeford alias Beauchamp or Beuchamp[1]
William was born in 1185. He was the son of Hugh de Beauchamp and Isabella deSacre Wake.[citation needed] He was born in 1185 at Bedford, Bedfordshire, England[2] William was born about 1187.[citation needed]
In July 37 Henry III [1253], Little Linford manor co Buckingham, was held of Sir William de Bellocampo Bedeford and Idonea his wife of the honour of Newort Paynel.[3]
William de Bello Campo of the barony of Bedford[4] had children:
Simon who was married to Isabel;[4]
Maud de Maubray;[4]
Ela, born circa 1240 [granddaughter Isabel born in 1270, daughter Ida born in approx 1255];[4]
Beatrice de Bello Campo was married to 1) Thomas son of Otho[5]/Otto,[4] and 2) Sir William de Monte Caniso of Edwardeston/[5] Montecanyso[4]
A writ dated 4 October 23 Edward I [1294], after the death of Isabel, late wife of Simon de Bello Campo, resulted in an Inquisition in Bedford which found that Isabel held the manor of Wottone in dower by the assignment of Simon son of William de Bello Campo, and the heirs of the barony of Bedford were
Roger, aged 30 plus, son of Simon's sister Maud;
Joan, aged 30, daughter of Simon's sister Ela, and wife of Ralph Paymel;
Isabel, aged 24, daughter of Ida, daughter of Simon's sister Ela, and wife of Simon de Pateshulle;
Elizabeth, aged 34, daughter of Simon's sister Ela, and the wife of John de Horbur'
the heirs of the body of Beatrice sometime sister of the said Simon, who were Otto deceased, Maud aged 26 married to John Botetourte, and William de Montecanyso of Edwardestone, aged 12, but because Otto survived his mother the jury were doubtful whether Beatrice's share of the barony should revert to the children of her first or second husband.[4]

Death
Several writs were issued in October 46 Henry III [1261] regarding William de Bello Campo de Bedeford, and the resulting Inquisitions held in Staunford town, Ravenesden, Hardwyk and Dilewyk, all in co Bedford, found William died on the Sunday after the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, which is celebrated on 15 August (see Wikipedia:Assumption of Mary).[6]
The Inquisition at Dilewyk was held in response to a writ dated 22 October 46 Henry III because of a petition from Ida de Bello Campo, and it found Lady Ida de Bello Campo held Delewyk manor for life by fine made in the King's court between her and the said William.[6]
William died in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England[7]
